B4A Goes Down Under
15 February 2012
B4A has now started to spread the word, about the work it is doing, in Australia, where we already have 12 collection points, thanks to the hard work of our co-ordinator there, Sarah Gardner.
Sarah takes up the story of how she became involved, "The launch of Boots For Africa (Australia) is a very exciting project that I feel passionately about! Two of my loves are rugby and helping others and this great cause ties them together nicely."
"I am 25 years old and live in Sydney. I have worked in Human Resources for 7 years and am currently studying Primary School Teaching at university. I love exercising, travelling, cooking and yoga."
"The first pair of football boots I have collected for Boots For Africa belong to Stuart Dickinson, one of Australia’s greatest rugby referees. These were the boots he wore in his final match before retiring after a record 47 test matches and 98 games of Super Rugby. It’s great to know that these special boots will continue to live on in Africa!"
