Glenavon F.C. and Portadown F.C. in association with the P.S.N.I. Portadown Neighbourhood Policing Team, are introducing the Charity “Boots For Africa” to N. Ireland. The launch will be held at Shamrock Park, Portadown on Tuesday 19th July 2011 at 7pm before a testimonial / friendly match between Portadown F.C. and Glenavon F.C. then each club will have their own individual launch at their own open days.

Boots For Africa, founded by Sheffield FC – The World’s First Football Club – will collect your old football boots and deliver them to the children and adults of Africa. In many of the African communities you will see children playing football in their bare feet on rubble-strewn ground. The ‘Boots For Africa’ appeal aims to help develop the skills and fitness of disadvantaged children, and provide more children with the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful game. It is becoming more common these days to see professional footballers emerging from Africa, and it is through initiatives like this that we can help these people through difficult circumstances and help them enjoy the great game.

Inner Frame has much to thank Sheffield FC for, it was they who allowed us to become supporters of their Boots For Africa Appeal and get into the whole spirit of helping in the community sector which we feel we have now embraced totally.

“…the pleasure has been mine in working closely with you. Along this journey we have learnt a lot and hopefully we shall produce stars that would one day play Sheffield and other clubs in the UK. “
