CASTLEFORD TIGERS LEND SUPPORT FOR BOOTS FOR AFRICA
13 August 2010
Castleford Tigers, in conjunction with Polar Ford are asking the public to bring along their old and unwanted football and rugby boots to the game against Leeds at The Jungle on Friday night (13th August 2010). Kick off 8pm.
By depositing your cleaned and paired boots into the Polar Ford van at the ground, you will be donating them to the Boots For Africa Charity.
Boots For Africa was set up by Sheffield FC, The World’s First Football Club after its Chairman Richard Tims saw children in the poverty-ridden townships of Africa playing football in their bare feet.
Jenny Tims Boots For Africa Project Manager said “It’s fantastic that Castleford Tigers have joined Boots For Africa as a collection point. To have such a prestigious club supporting us will be a great help in raising the profile of the Charity, and with their army of fans; hopefully all with boots to donate, it will make a real difference to the children and adults of Africa who play football and rugby in bare feet.”
Robert Ruffler of Polar Ford added “This is such a simple idea and a very worthwhile cause which will give children in Africa so much enjoyment from owning their first ever pair of boots. We’re really behind the campaign and hope the people of Castleford will be too!”
